ARCHAEO RESEARCH maintains an experienced staff of personnel with extensive backgrounds in cultural
anthropology, ethnohistory, prehistoric archaeology, historical archaeology, classical archaeology, and cultural
resource management (CRM). Full-time staff and contract associates at Archaeo Research Limited include
administrators, anthropologists, archaeologists, historians, researchers and technical specialists:
JOHN DEWHIRST (j.dewhirst@archaeo.net), president of Archaeo Research Limited, received his Bachelor of Arts
degree in Anthropology in 1967 and his Master of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1972. John established Archaeo
Reseach Limited under the name of Archeo Tech Associates in 1984. He has conducted ethnographic,
ethnohistorical and archaeological research in British Columbia since 1966, as well as archaeological research in
Quebec and Ontario, and heritage research in Saskatchewan. John is experienced in the design and implementation
of ethnographic and archaeological research projects, in library and archival research, as well as in the planning and development of
heritage sites. His major interests are in the aboriginal peoples of British Columbia, including land use and occupancy, cultural change,
treaty and specific claims, and archaeology.
